Another lesson with Harold in the Life Ed classroom

We had our second session with Harold. We read about the amount of fat, sugar and salt in certain packaged foods we eat. If it is less than 10% per 100 grams, it is not too bad for us. Some foods had 32% sugar - WOW!
We found out Salada crackers were not too bad as a snack. Have a look in your pantry at home and have a look at the back of the packaging. You might get a surprise!

We learned about where our food goes in our digestive system. We studied a diagram about how food goes in the mouth and gets chewed. Then it goes down our food pipe called our oesophagus. (We also have a wind pipe for air too). Then the food gets to our stomach and it gets broken down even more. It goes in to our intestines and the little holes let the goodness from our food go into our blood. The parts we don't use are called waste and that goes out  - you know how!
