While our school's library is being upgraded, we visit the village library. We can go there for books to be issued, for research and for a librarian to talk to us about topics of interest, like our inquiry about flag colours and designs. We had questions that we wanted answered. We all scanned our own books after we had sat down to read.
Welcome to Room 12's blog for 2016! We have an amazing class of Year 4 students. We are looking forward to a great year of learning with new activities and experiences to motivate us and extend our thinking. Have a look at our work and make a comment. We would love to hear from you!

Just how big is the blue whale?
Caitlin and Claudia were amazed to read the big blue whale really IS BIG! They decided to measure outside to see just how long 33 metres was. They started at the library wall and measured all the way to to outside Room 13 and the edge of the garden with grasses! That is really big!!
They decided it must be as wide as the concrete path too and went back to do more research for their sea creature inquiry.
Here they are measuring with metre rulers.

Aquarium sleepover
Room 10 had the best time ever at the Aquarium for our sleepover. We had school on Monday then went home for afternoon tea. We came back to school at 4:15 and after roll call, we drove in cars to Napier. It was such a cool camp. We worked together to co-operate and learn together. We even got plenty of sleep in front of the sharks!
